I was once asked by the Public Relations Department at Arizona State University to help them with some photographs of the Broadway production of Showboat at the Gammage Auditorium. They wanted me to shoot some slides of pre-opening night in order to provide a slide show of the production for the opening night buffet. Normally the press can only shoot the first 20-30 minutes of any Broadway production but since I was shooting for the production, I was able to take photographs of the whole thing. It was great! The slide show went well and members of the cast asked for some prints of the slides to have for themselves. They commented that they were never able to see photographs of themselves performing as there never seemed to be a photographer that showed their work to them. All of these photographs were shot using available light with a 300 mm lens from the sound booth at the back of the auditorium. Anyway, here are some of the photographs that I took. There are a lot of photographs here, please be patient as they load up.
